Hi all,
We now have an installer for PHP-GTK on OS X. I couldn't figure out how
to cross-compile yet; so the installer will work only for the new Intel
Macs. (No PPC)
It's a pretty straightforward install; and assumes nothing other than X
to be present (it can be the one by Apple, Fink, MacPorts, whatever).
It'll put in all the required dylibs/includes in /usr/local/php-gtk so
that it's completely isolated from the rest of the system and doesn't
mess with anything.
Add /usr/local/php-gtk/bin to your $PATH once the installation is
completed. You can then run any PHP-GTK app via the `php-gtk'
executable; which is basically a symbolic link to /usr/local/php-gtk/bin/php
Both PHP and PHP-GTK don't have any fancy extensions yet. Glade is
available though. Gtk+ is patched up to run with the GlossyP theme; to
give it a more Aquaish look. gtk-chtheme is bundled if you want to
change the theme.
Get it while it's hot: http://www.kix.in/php-gtk2/PHP-GTK.dmg (23.3M)
Those of you with Intel Macs; please do give it a try. Feedback is
appreciated :)
Andrei: I guess it won't make sense to put this in CVS, since it's
binary and it's huge. Let me know what you think.
