ps and I should also ask what on earth relies on gd in PHP-GTK alpha? Can you please churn out a bug test script?

Subject: [PHP-GTK-DEV] win32 Build Problem
Evening all, I've found another problem with the win32 build stuff and I'm not sure exactly how to fix it. The issue is this, currently the gdk/gd interaction stuff relies on HAVE_GD_BUNDLED being defined. Since this is never checked/added with the current windows build stuff, users are getting spurious Fatal error: PHP-GTK was not compiled aganst PHP with bundled GD library (which is marlarky, since if GD is built on windows it bundles the library...but I digress) The problem is this - how do I check to see if php_gd2.lib exists (and thus add it in to the build and add the /D HAVE_GD_BUNDLED) OR how do I check if the gd stuff exists in the php5[ts][_debug].lib? It seems like this should be transparent and not have to have a configure switch...but I really can't figure out a good way to do it. With the right lib (either adding php_gd2.lib to the link libs or building it into php) along with the compiler flag it builds and works great. I do have an almost fix for the php_gd2.lib - I can manually search for the lib and then use CHECK_LIB and add the appropriate CFLAG if it does exist. However, a built in GD is a lot harder to deal with. I've tried cheating by finding and reading the appropriate php lib into a string and doing a regex match on it...however this fails miserably (I don't think jscript likes all the nutty characters) I have yet to find a way in the build system to do this kind of check. So, do I make enabling gd a configure switch? Does someone else have a better way of detecting if gd was built (shared or not) with the existing php lib? This really should be fixed for windows users! Thanks, Elizabeth Smith -- PHP-GTK Development Mailing List (http://gtk.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
