I consider it a bug in that, what if for example there was a /real/ PHP extension called Sexy? PHP-GTK would overwrite it with it's own libsexy extension. I've talked about this before with Elizabeth and Anant and I think we were in agreement that that should be fixed. I think at the time though none of us really had a clue about what exactly needs the tweak, nor time to investigate it.
