I'm working on getting all the new 2.12 stuff wrapped and working and
I've stumbled upon a strange thing
GtkNotebook allows you to set a group for a notebook, and then tabs can
be dragged and dropped between notebooks in the same group - useful
feature added in 2.10
Originally the API used a set_group_id function for this, where you'd
use an integer to identify the groups, but the GTK authors decided this
wasn't flexible enough
In 2.12 they deprecated the set_group_id and instead added a set_group.
gtk_notebook_set_group then needs a gpointer passed to identify a group
- usually this is a const char[] in the code that I've seen - a string
identifier.
How do you want to wrap this for PHP-GTK2? Force users to pass a
string? It's hard to see what other wrappings have done because 1.
either the pygtk generator handles gpointers transparently or 2. pygtk
doesn't support it yet (I don't know which, there's no override but it's
present in the defs) and the perl and ruby bindings don't have 2.12
support completed yet.
Any ideas for how to handle this?
Thanks,
Elizabeth
