My reflection-based script seems to be working now, and it also put into light a three other symbol clashes in the PHP-GTK constants:
Gdk::XOR
Gdk::AND
Gdk::OR
These are also reserved PHP words. The problem with Traversable not being implementable in a script is really a PHP issue, not one with PHP-GTK.
