Hi Steph, I believe I forgot to mention that I have the same problem with all versions available for download either through the website or cvs. I just tried it again with 1.0.1 to verify and it is indeed the exact same problem (minus the missing php_gtk.m4 that I mentioned). Any other ideas? Thanks! -Nate Steph wrote:

I'm using: machine:~$ gtk-config --version 1.2.10 and: machine:~$ php --version PHP 4.3.9RC2 (cgi) (built: Sep 1 2004 15:12:50) I've downloaded the 1.0.0 source tar.gz from the website, and when I try to run buildconf, I get the following: machine:~/php-gtk-1.0.0$ ./buildconf configure.in:9: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_WITH_PHP_CONFIG run info '(automake)Extending aclocal' or see http://sources.redhat.com/automake/automake.html#Extending%20aclocal configure.in:32: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_EXT_BUILDDIR configure.in:33: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_EXT_DIR configure.in:34: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_EXT_SRCDIR configure.in:35: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_ALWAYS_SHARED aclocal: cannot open php_gtk.m4: No such file or directory make: *** [buildmk.stamp] Error 1 So I looked around and I see php_gtk_new.m4 and php_gtk_old.m4. Being optimistic, I coped php_gtk_new.m4 to php_gtk.m4 and buildconf then completed successfully in spite of about 100 "underquoted definition of" warning messages. Then I did ./configure and that completed also. The make starts off fine, but then blows up part way through with this: ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.c:1: syntax error before '<' token ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.c:2: too many decimal points in floating constant ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.c:4: too many decimal points in floating constant In file included from /usr/include/_G_config.h:44,

These errors are, I believe, coming from the Defs_Parser constructor (in generator/scheme.php) which is being called from generator/generator.php, which is being executed directly from the Makefiles in many places with "--" as the first argument. I was hoping perhaps someone could point me at the root of the problem.
