Introspection of a language binding

Hi all and excuse me for the banal question just for a newbie. I'm curious to know better about the work of binding language like PHP-GTk. I'm newbie in the software-engine and i want an impression just for overview about the work to develop the interface between the sintax of PHP and library of GTk. I have suppose that a sintax of PHP coming translate to a C sintax to work on particular widget that code regard like button clist and other... At this point the new version work correcty with either sintax of language PHP4 and PHP5 ? It's right. Can you explain me ?
