Hi, I'm copying the reply from Markus, which worked for me Hope that helps............ -- Daniel Garcia On Sat, Feb 02, 2002 at 10:22:55AM +0800, Simon Wheeler wrote : > HI again, I can still not get 0.5 to run unless php is in the c:\php4 directory, > putting the PHP .exe that ships with 0.5 anywhere else fails. > > can anyone else on windows confirm otherwise please. > > If not I guess its a bug?? I've no problems with putting it in a non-standard path. In fact, I _never_ put anything in c:\php4\ because every win32 binary defaults to that and this would break almost everything when using different versions. I'm using W2K. I'll describe what I did: .) downloaded php-gtk-0.5.0-win32.zip to c:\php\ .) extract whole content to C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\ .) opened dos prompt, changed directory to C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\php4 .) created a php.ini file with 'extension_dir = .' .) ran 'php -f C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\test\gtk.php' and it popped up This was my first attempt and it worked. I've nothing in c:\winnt\ related to php because this would mean hell with different PHP versions. The win32 console binary has a nasty habbit that when you type something wrong and a file cannot be found there's no error output: .) 'php -f php -f C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\test\gt.php' Notice the typo! There will be no error message. There will be returned -1 to the shell process but unlikely you catch this on your first try. If you don't set the php.ini appropriate you should get an error like this: C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\php4>php -f C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\test\gtk.php
Warning: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\PHP4/php_gtk.dll' - The module couldn't be found. in C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\test\gtk.php on line 6

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'gtk' in C:\php\php-gtk-0.5.0-win32\test\gtk.php on line 2661
HTH - Markus ps: Frank, do you think you could bundle a debug version for win32 too?
