Hi , a quickie
First off I do note that Alan came/is within spitting distance of PHP5/GTK2 ...& I appreciate
that PHP5/GTK2 is a while away for several good reasons (not least PHP5's still a toddler).
I get the feeling from Andrei's post that its straight into GTK2, so I ask , what
exactly/officially, is the next target :: a stable PHP5 + GTK 1.* or PHP5 + GTK2 ?
Right now I personally would be over the moon with PHP5 + GTK 1.* , I appreciate that GTK2 is
preferable for many reasons, but seeing as that may be a while away and that its a lot of work ...
what's the chances of getting PHP5 working with GTK 1.* , or more to the point is it realistic
, I have not a clue how much work would be involved but I assume some of you here do :)
Would the work on getting PHP5 up to date with the current GTK libraries simply be too much to be
thrown away when GTK2 starts in earnest ?
I would love to have a genuine reason to use all of the OO in PHP5 , its even worth thinking about a
pattern or 2 ;) , though to be fair I would saw off my own head for some decent dereferencing!
(however counter-productive that may end up to be)
Regards,
Simon.
