OK looks like I was trying to load the CGI , though not sure how I even built with it in the first place ~ , for those interested , make sure your php executable is the CLI not the CGI :) Fresh CD install of FC4 with development tools which provides autoconf 2.59 automake 1.9.5 libtool 1.5.16 PHP-5.1.0b3 src (cvs will not build for me) ./configure make make install ( if you use --with-apxs= ..etc then the binary installed should be the CLI anyway ..... if not ) cp /php-5.1.0b3/sapi/php /usr/bin/php ./buildconf ./configure \ --with-phpize=/usr/local/bin/phpize \ --with-php-config=/usr/local/bin/php-config \ --disable-combobutton \ --disable-libglade \ --disable-scrollpane \ --disable-piemenu \ --disable-sqpane \ --disable-spaned \ make and a big whoot when the first demo ran.
