You just need to run X11R6 for MacOSX, then you are able to run php-gtk without any problems, as you have every library needed to run it (gtk, glib, etc). Okay. I'm guessing that means there is no version for Darwin?
OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD use X11R6 display protocol so its basicly the same thing as run on Linux. Right. I was looking through FreeBSD's ports collection the other day (my preferred method for installing _anything_ on FreeBSD) and only saw PHP-Gtk version 1.xx for FreeBSD 6.0. I suppose a port won't become available until PHP-Gtk2 is out of beta.
Darwin (MacOSX real operating system) is based on the BSDi 4.4, not on FreeBSD. I stand corrected. Thanks.
BeOS can run X11R6 too, as far as I know there is a project to port every Posix compliant application for Be. Well, thanks for that wealth of information, Piero. That clears up a lot of things for me.-Ron T.
