thanks, uninstalled php-gtk 1and tried using the gnope installer, seemed to work successfully but now apache has bit the dust, it complains of a syntax error in the conf file regarding the lines which load the php5apache.dll. This has not changed and the path is still valid! How does the Gnope install effect this? Scott Mattocks wrote:

thanks for the quick response i run php 5.0.4 and was trying to install "php-gtk-1.0.2-win32", the examples all actually work but before they are displayed the message in my first post pops up 4 times before the application can work, which is weird!
PHP-GTK 1 requires PHP 4 (should not work with PHP 5). PHP-GTK 2 requires PHP 5.1.1. If you want to install PHP-GTK 2 try the Gnope installer (http://gnope.org).
