Gtknotebook problem bug or feature?

i created "modules" that appends pages to a gtknotebook and keeps track of
the ids of the pages inserted, so when i press a cancel button i could call
$this->notebook->remove_page($this->tabListid); to close a page.
the problem is when i open multiple pages and close them in other order than
created, the ids of the pages are "changed"..
Example
Create User (X) << page id 0 List User (X) << page id 1then i close (Create User id 0)... List User (X) << page id now is 0 (id changed..?) bug or feature :S?
