I read these manual pages but at the moment one can not say that they are newbie oriented. I feel like 20 years ago when I was discovering Unix by reading the manual pages and not having any other tutorials ;-) (I understand that the effort needed to have extensive tutorials for php-gtk would be enormous.)
BTW, is it good practice to build a .glade file with all I need in my application and then use show/hide to bring pieces when I need them? Is there a better way ? (too bad Glade-2 does not offer easy support for localization but that's another story)
Regards,
Bernard

you're welcome :) happy to be helpfull you can find the most common signal list here: http://gtk.php.net/manual/en/gtk.gtkwidget.php regarding the set_visible i think it can work correctly by passing the second argument to true, as explain here: http://gtk.php.net/manual/en/gtk.gtkwidget.method.set_visible.php in fact u should use hide_all() and show_all() most of the time to ensure all childs widget to get correctly repaint on the screen. i don't remember when i came to use this but the only place i know about this is http://gtk.php.net/manual/en/gtk.gtkwidget.method.show_all.php but at least now you know it ;) regards nathan On 7/25/07, Bernard Fouché <bernard.fouche@kuantic.com> wrote:Thanks Malk0, it now works! However for a GTK newbie like me all these signal names are so close one to each other (delete, delete-event, destroy) that I've trouble to figure what signal to use! Also where can I read that I should have used hide/show instead of set_visible? Bernard
