PHP-GTK : Conversion of gtk apps to exe files

Hi there The following questions may seem stupid but i cant seem to get the doubt out of my head. I am trying to create an application that would connect to the internet and get me the day to day weather information. My questions are: 1. Is it possible to convert it to a .exe extension? 2. I talked to someone in in the irc node and what i understood was it was not possible to create standalone app which would connect to a database and retrieve data. Because all systems using the app would require php, php-gtk installed on it. So my question is how come "pidgin works". It was created using the gtk+ module. (I am guessing it does not use php.). and it is has a .exe file. 3. what if i do not want to connect to database and just display the weather info??. Is it possible. If you dont find my question stupid and naive please answer my query. thanks with regards raisun
