My first guess is that gtk1.2 doesn't supprt it. However, gtk2
with Pango will support it ... text than looks like this
<bold>Textentry content</bold
I've seen this somewhere before ;)
Anyway, you're better off asking at gtk-user list (for now ;)
methinks.
