Take that last bit back, it *doesn't* overwrite, but will run without php.ini if you use that function. It does still try to find it, however. I got around that by moving my php.ini into the same folder as my php.exe and re-configuring my webserver to the new path. Entschuldigen für meine Verwirrung, 'hab nicht genug geschlafen! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steph" <Steph.Fox@btinternet.com> To: <php-gtk@lists.php.net> Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2001 10:18 AM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK] installation problems Morning Christian, Right ..... 1. Php-gtk won't run on earlier versions of php than the one in development at present, ie 4.0.5dev. If you downloaded the Windows binary, the exe you downloaded is the correct exe. 2. Php-gtk files are NOT documents .... & you don't run them thru a server. 3. Suggest you back up your original web-version of php to somewhere safe & start over. You need to keep the versions apart. Putting the dlls in the same library will cause conflicts. 4. I've found on win98 that the opening part of the sample files reading if (!class_exists('gtk')) { if (strtoupper(substr(PHP_OS, 0,3) == 'WIN')) dl('php_gtk.dll'); else dl('php_gtk.so'); } appears to override any existing installation of php.ini so long as everything's in the correct directory path as given in the installation howto. Please double-check that function, there was a typo in the original, I forget where now. I have both versions running fine, side by side, no interference whatsoever - it *is* possible! Glückwunsch!
