entry value again & refresh window

I got another problem: I have a window with entry "name" and button "save&close". I want to type in the name and, after clicking on "save&close", I want to save the name to file i'm using something like this $button->connect('clicked', 'save_close',$entry_name->get_text()); function save_close($widget,$name) { $file=fopen("seznam.txt","a"); $radek="$name\n"; fputs($file,$radek); fclose($file); $window = $widget->get_toplevel(); $window->hide(); } when I click the button, the file is updated and window close, but as the name is saved the original value of entry and not the name I typed in and problem 2 how do I refresh (redraw) the window? I have a window containg the list of names, which can be added, so I want to redraw the window after adding the name is it possible? thank for any help -- Adam Rambousek rambousek@volny.cz
