Ok, I think I found the solution. Which is actually in a totally different direction. The problematic string was added to the pot file, and I had to restart my local server to have it taken into account. I read something about that in another forum. It sounds strange to me, as I never had to do that on my productive sites (which anyway are shared environments), but obviously that was the problem and it is solved.
