Hi, i've run into some wierd compiling problems on solaris 2.7 where the
compiler stalls (i've let it wait for 26 hours just to be sure).
here is where it staals:
/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1/Zend -I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1
-I/usr/local/mysql/include/mysql -I/usr/local/oracle//rdbms/public
-I/usr/local/oracle//rdbms/demo -I/usr/local/oracle//network/public
-I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/xml/expat/xmltok
-I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/xml/expat/xmlparse
-I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1/TSRM -D_POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS
-DXML_BYTE_ORDER=21 -g -O2 -c url_scanner_ex.c && touch
url_scanner_ex.lo
^Cmake[3]: *** [url_scanner_ex.lo] Error 130
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 130
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 130
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 130
As you can see the only way to go about it is to do ctrl-C, and from
what i can see it stalls in the all-recursive shell script since the ps
output shows the following:
root 10353 10352 0 11:28:17 pts/0 0:00
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.2/cpp -lang-c -I.

-I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/standard -I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0
root 10351 10350 0 11:28:17 pts/0 0:00 /bin/sh -c gcc -I.
-I/export/home/mbj/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/standard -I/export/home
my configure looks like this:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--with-oci8 --with-gnu-ld --enable-track-vars --enable-magic-quotes
--enable-force-cgi-redirect --enable-discard-path --enable-libgcc
--enable-inline-optimization
but i have also tried the following without any difference:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--with-oci8 --enable-track-vars --enable-magic-quotes
--enable-force-cgi-redirect --enable-discard-path
when i tried the one above i didn't have binutils installed, which i
have now, and i only installed it to see wether or not it would make a
difference to use gnu ld
my compiler is: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
make is: GNU Make version 3.78.1, by Richard Stallman and Roland
McGrath.
and so on... i really do have everything up to date..newest bison/flex,
you name it.
ok so here is the real clue, and where i am clueless:
it all worked fine before i installed the oracle8i client libraries and
net8.... back then i used this configure:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--enable-track-vars --enable-magic-quotes --enable-force-cgi-redirect
--enable-discard-path
and it worked perfectly...
but now after the oracle installation, it won't compile even when i
specify --without-oci8, is that spooky or what?
i have tried to delete the php sourcetree and start over with a freshly
untar'ed one, but that makes no diff (i did make distclean before every
retry, but i thought maybe make distclean forgot something)
but alas, evereything i did was to no avail :(
if there should be any doubt, it is php 4.03pl1 i'm using/trying to
use...
please help me.... i'm completely lost and i have a nasty deadline :(
and please respond to my mail adress, since i'm not on the list
