Missing / undefined functions...

Hello Everyone, as I am first time to this list please tell me if I missed the netiquette... Now my problem I am trying to install php-4.0.3pl1 on a S.u.S.E. 7.0 distribution with all the latest patches (including Apache 1.3.12) as a DSO for apache. Now at first glance everything seems to be fine (mysql mods working etc.) But some things are just missing: Calling split(), preg_split() etc. causes fatal errors as calls to undefined functions. What follows is my configure command... './configure --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd --enable-safe-mode --enable-magic-quotes --with-mysql=/mysql2 --enable-trans-sid' From my configure.log I can not tell an important thing to be missing... Did I miss something in my configure-command? Have I to reedit my php.ini (I can not find any need for that in the docs...)? Is maybe the distr. I am using a little bit broken? Thanks Marcus Schneider
