Pear is a directory

Trying to install PHP 4.04 on Mac OS X Public Beta. I had the same problem on Mac OS X Server previously. ./configure \ --with-xml \ --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs \ --with-config-file-path=/Library/WebServer/Configuration/ ./make ./make install Reports 'cp: pear is a directory (not copied).' (see script below) Then installation aborts. Before, I worked around this by modifying the make file...although I don't remember exactly what I did. But is there a better solution? Has anyone seen this before? It's using it's own 'install' (./build/shtool install) instead of /usr/bin/install if that matters.
