how to use gd library(php4.0.4)

I write script that:

ImageRectangle($im,10,10,80,50,$blue);
$red=ImageColorAllocate($im,255,0,0);
ImageString($im,3,15,70,"Rectangle",$red);
ImageString($im,3,110,70,"Line",$red);
ImageGif($im);
ImageDestroy($im);

then save name is image.php and I remove comment at php_gd.dll in
php.ini file and the section extension_dir is c:/php4/extensions,then i
run the script.It is warning that
Warning: ImageGif: No GIF support in this PHP build in
c:\apache\htdocs\test\image.php on line 11
Can you tell me .. why is it warning? and how to resolve the problem?
