Sorry if I sound a little frustrated. I have posted this problem on this
and several other new groups and have gotten no replies, just found more people
with the same problem. If you can help, I'd be extremely grateful.
I am running Mandrake 7.0 with the standard Apache 1.3.9 rpm installed with
mod_so.c enabled. I modified the /etc/ld.so.conf to include the mysql libraries
as mentioned in the INSTALL file and ran ldconfig then compiled it as follows:
$ ./configure --with-apxs --with-mysql --prefix=/usr
$ make
$ make install
It detects, compiles and installs perfectly. I modified the http.conf to
include the new libphp4.so, but when I go to start httpd I just get a
segmentation fault. I examined the core dump with gdb and couldn't tell what
was causing the segv, it just gave me a memory address. I have tried a few
other configurations with the same results. If you want the output of
everything let me know and I'll send it as well.
