PHP-4.3.8 compile error

I am attempting to build Apache 1.3.31 with PHP 4.3.8 as a DSO on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 ES. I need PHP to connect to Sybase (ASE 12.5.2). Apache compiles ok, but PHP fails on make.
