Have you configured your PHP distribution with GD support, if you don't
do this you will not be able to run graphic functions other than
getImageSize and a few others.
If you have installed Apache and PHP in windows all you have to do is
uncomment the line refering to php_gd.dll in php.ini otherwise you'll
have to get gdlib for the platform you're using and install it into your
system, then recompile PHP with gd support using the option --with-gd,
check out how to do this in the php documentation site.
