I'm also running PayFlowPro with PHP 4.3.8. The only difference was
that I didn't try to compile it as a shared library (although I just
tried it, and it worked fine). I didn't have to specify a path, I
believe since libpfpro.so was already in my library search path. Have
you tried adding the pfpro path to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH or to
ldconfig?
