Apache isn't running the page through php first, it's just sending it staight to the browser. The fact that all you see is the text outside of the <? ?> tags is perfectly understandable, since your browser is supposed to just ignore anything it doesn't understand. All I can suggest is to double check that you have your libphp3.so module loaded in your httpd.conf. Anyone? I modified my /etc/httpd/httpd.conf file to have only one AddType line for .php3 and .php file extensions. After reloading apache, I saw the same results when viewing my test.php3 file through Netscape. The source sent from from apache to netscape looked as follows, while the display showed only "Here's some text". Here's some text <?php $alpha="Hello from PHP"; echo $alpha; phpinfo(); ?> Regards, Eric Stahl In a message dated 1/7/01 9:41:27 PM Pacific Standard Time, josh@lokot.com writes: << If you view the html code that the server sends back (view source in your browser) does it still contain the <? php code?>???
