So, I've now spent about 50 hours of time on this one..
I've kludged my system to cope with the fact that many of the --whatever-dir=<path>
arguments don't actually work, I've fixed mysqllib sections of the code to work with HPUX,
and not to give umoddi3 runtime errors, and now I'm about to totally give up getting GD to
work.
The finished library complains about many undefined references. A good example would be
gdImageCopy. Running nm on the library gives two versions of the function. One with a code offset,
type uext (I'm guessing undefined external?), and one undef type. Many of the missing (data)
type references aren't there in any form, and this happens with gcc and cc, with static and
shared gd library.
Does anyone have a binary with gd/png support enabled? I'll happily rebuild apache to match
whatever the working library needs, but this is getting stupid (I'm guessing it's
something to do with libtool not having a brain). Does anyone know how to get the linking to work?
thanks,
james
(getting really fed up with it now, and wishing for the days of real Makefiles)
