Error opening prepend file

Hi - I get the following error: Warning: Failed opening ''prepend.php3'' for inclusion (include_path=''.:/opt/apache/php'') in Unknown on line 0 when I try to open any '.php' file. prepend.php3 is in /opt/apache/php All directories in the include path have read and execute permission for the user running the web server, and the prepend.php3 file is 777. Its a Sun Box running Solaris 8. PHP 4.0.6 (didn't work for 4.0.5 either) Apache 1.3.20, with PHP as a static module. I have tried giving the absolute path for prepend.php3 in php.ini with the same result, and have tried changing around the path there, as well. I can see that php.ini is being read (because when I change the path or file name, I see it in the error message.) Besides needing help, I can't figure out how to debug this.
