Hi,
I wonder if anyone could tell me what option to choose when installing
Oracle 8i (8.1.6) in order to be able to compile PHP with support for
Oracle?
I'm asking since I installed Oracle today on a workstation running Solaris
2.7. My machine is only used as webserver, so I'm not very interested in a
full Oracle-installation, but only what's necessary to get a Oracle-capable
PHP up and running.
I thought Oracle's "Client" install-mode would be sufficient, but apparently
it's not. I chose "Client" and then "Administrator" (which installed some
300 MB's) and the configure runs nicely but when I run make I get this
message saying that oci.h can't be found:
In file included from internal_functions.c:40:
/extra/app/src/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/oci8/php_oci8.h:45: oci.h: No such file or
directory
When I check /opt/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/rdbms/demo/ I discover that it
only contains one file, oratypes.h, so I guess it's not that strange that
the compile fails.
So, what's the _minimal_ install of Oracle 8i in order to compile PHP
successfully?
Regards,
Peter
