Is the path given here the path that you used to configure openldap? (--prefix)
ie. the install path?

This happens if your system doesn't have getcwd() or getwd()
But I think Solaris 8 should have one of them at least.
Are your paths set correctly ?? Like LD_LIBRARY_PATH / PATH ?
