Hello and thanks in advance for your help. First. Initial Setup - I have installed RH 6.2 with apache from cd. - Downloaded Apache 1.3.12 and PHP 4.0.2 Second. Try to make PHP - From a Thread between Michael Collins & Rasmus Lerdorf => [root@www apache_1.3.14]# ./configure \ => > --prefix=/usr/local/apache \ => => [root@www php-4.0.3pl1]# ./configure \ => > --prefix=/usr/local \ => > --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql \ => > --with-apache=/usr/local/etc/apache_1.3.14 \ => > --enable-track-vars \ => > --enable-trans-sid \ => > --with-xml => It isn't necessary to "make" PHP at this point => [root@www apache_1.3.14]# ./configure \ => > --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a \ => > --enable-module=php4 \ => > --prefix=/usr/local/apache \ => > --enable-module=so I did a make of apache. I found a file libphp4.a at ./src/modules/php4 It seems that apache is not working with .a libs (at /usr/lib/apache are only .so files) Do I have to relink the library or something else? What is the difference between .a and .so modules (not about php but if you know... :-) ) How can I replace /usr/sbin/httpd Wich lines I have to change in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf Thanks again.
