Hi all,
I see a lot of posts on the list from people having similar problems
compiling. I had similar problem compiling mysqld finally got it done.
But I'm having a problem similar to the one I was having while doing mysql,
the c++ compiler that can't create executables:
checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib
-L/usr/local/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/X11R6/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -Wl,-
rpath,/usr/opt/java118/lib/alpha/native_threads
-L/usr/opt/java118/lib/alpha/native_threads
-Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql -L
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/mm/lib -L/usr/local/mm/lib)
works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot
create executables
This problem was only resolved by removing certain flags when doing mysql,
but I can't see any flags to remove with php. What can do this? Why
executables can't be created? The error doesn't say anything useful!
The system is Alpha Tru64 V5.1, PHP4.0.2 and I'm trying to use c++ (which
may just be gcc in disguise), I have gcc 2.95.2 and CXX="gcc" or CXX="c++"
generate the same errors, I don't use a CXXFLAGS line, should I use one?
