Jumping right into the heart of the matter... If I have apache.conf set to load php4, i.e.
LoadModule php4_module /Local/Library/Apache/Modules/libphp4.so
AddModule mod_php4.c then I receive these errors: [Wed Oct 25 23:58:04 2000] [notice] Apache/1.3.12 (Mac OS X Server) configured -- resuming normal operations dyld: /usr/local/sbin/apache Undefined symbols: g_allow_ref [Thu Oct 26 00:01:55 2000] [notice] Apache/1.3.12 (Mac OS X Server) configured -- resuming normal operations dyld: /usr/local/sbin/apache Undefined symbols: g_allow_ref If I then comment out those two lines, i.e.
#LoadModule php4_module /Local/Library/Apache/Modules/libphp4.so
#AddModule mod_php4.c then I start up fine (/usr/local/sbin/apachectl start): [Thu Oct 26 00:14:18 2000] [notice] Apache/1.3.12 (Mac OS X Server) configured -- resuming normal operations Now here's the really weird part... If I uncomment the lines again
LoadModule php4_module /Local/Library/Apache/Modules/libphp4.so
AddModule mod_php4.c and restart gracefully (/usr/local/sbin/apachectl graceful), PHP starts up fine: [Thu Oct 26 00:21:13 2000] [notice] Apache/1.3.12 (Mac OS X Server) PHP/4.0.2 configured -- resuming normal operations [Thu Oct 26 00:21:13 2000] [warn] long lost child came home! (pid 1410) (I have no idea what pid 1410 wass, but I get the same warning with a different pid each time I PHP loads with a graceful restart.) I searched for g_allow_ref in the PHP source and was only able to find references to first_arg_allow_ref and second_arg_allow_ref. My build uses: ./configure --with-mysql \ --with-apxs=/usr/local/sbin/apxs \ --enable-track-vars \ --enable-magic-quotes \ --enable-discard-path \ --disable-pear \ --with-xml Any ideas would be appreciated, Ryan
