Sounds like you may not have installed apache and php in the proper order. I had the same problem a few days ago. Here's the order you should do things in. configure apache configure php make php make install php configure apache AGAIN (make sure you have the directive to get php4 in your configure this time) make apache make install apache That should work for you!
