You're using php4 but the uncommented lines are php3.

Hello,
I am new to this list, and there was no FAQ available, so first I
apologize if this problem has already been addressed here.
I'm trying to install php-4.0.3 as a static module to apache-1.3.12 in
RedHat 6.2. I followed the INSTALL instructions that came with the php
tarball:
First, in the apache directory, I ran
# ./configure
Then I changed to the php directory and ran
# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php --with-ldap \
--with-apache=/tarballs/apache/apache-1.3.12 --enable-track-vars
# make
# make install
Then, back to the apache directory:
# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache \
--activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a
# make
# make install
(Everything compiled fine.)
In http.conf, I uncommented the lines
AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3
AddType application/x-httpd-php3-source .phps
and started httpd:
# /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start
The Web server works fine, except for when I try to load a php
page. Instead of showing a Web page, the browser prompts me to download
the php file. I've tried this with several browsers (Netscape, IE,
lynx) from several different machines on the network.
Anybody see what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Walter Brameld
