Hello all, I'll try to be as precise as possible with
my most confusing problem. I have been running php
for a long time now and am currently running Redhat
6.2 + all redhats updates (apache 1.3.14) + php 4.0.2
with the configuration line:
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs --enable-ftp
--without-gd
All was well until I decided to play around with imap
functions... I had the same source tree from the
original build so I just added the --with-imap=dir and
reconfig/recompiled. Apache won't restart so I tried
eliminating the dir and unpacking it and starting over
with php. Then I tried using 4.0.3pl1 with just:
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs
Then I used the redhat rpm for php-3.0.17 and updated
the apache config and it works... so apache will
restart with either no php or a version 3, but if I
uncomment the version 3 stuff and put the version 4
directives back in no version will work (in DSO or
static). I also get no messages in the error log,
apache just reports "Illegal Instruction" and core
dumps.
If anyone can provide some insight or debugging
suggestion I would be very grateful. Thanks - Russ
