Hi Dave,
I did'nt solved the problem. It looked unsolvable, because ORACLE uses some
thread library, wich sounds uncompatible with shl_load() (used by DSO of
course). So I used static compilation. And it sounds pretty good, as far as
httpsd (apache executable with SSL) is only 3.5M big.
Find attached a script to help compiling Apache 1.3.12, SSL, Php 4.0.3pl1,
gd library, LDAP and Oracle 8. This script is not to be executed as it is:
there are some file changes to do on the fly, and explained as comments into
that script.

I am having the same issue with apache not starting...
