I've tried to get PHP4 to run as CGI script
on our webserver, but without much luck.
System: Mandrake 7.2 Linux on i586 with Apache
1.3.14, apache-suexec 1.3.14 and PHP 4.0.3pl1.
I've managed to get Apache to recognize the
.php extension (and a few others) as CGI script,
but when run, all I get is "No input file specified.".
CGI scripts written in e.g. sh or perl works
fine, and Apache suexec passes the script name
as the first arg to the CGI interpreter, so
what the )/&#$ is it that PHP4 complains about ?
I saw an answer on faqts.com (I think, can't find it again :-(),
saying that you had to put php in e.g. /cgi-bin/php.cgi, and
then specify http://.../cgi-bin/php.cgi/script.php instead of
../cgi-bin/php.cgi?script.php, but I can't get that working either
- and how would you specify paths like /~user/somewhere/file.php ?
Oh, BTW, don't suggest that we should just install the module
version - there are way too many security holes in doing that.
Øyvind.
