redhat 7.3, apache, php setup question

I have a redhat 7.3 install with apache 1.3.26-11 and php 4.2.1 (i think).
Looking at the httpd.conf for the LoadModules
the location is listed as
LoadModule php4_module module/libphp4.so
however the modules is at /usr/local/apache
so being newbie not sure easiest way to make the change or were to make the modules directory ?
