Cannot connect to Sybase with php4

Dear all,
Have anyone tried to upgrade from php3.0.11 to php4.0.3pl1 and have
sybase connection error? After I go with the steps in www.php.net to set the
Apache Server 1.3.14 and php4.0.3pl1 on a Sun Sparc Server running with
SunOS 2.6, I cannot connect to the sybase server anymore. When I run a php
program with using sybase_connect(), the system report
<<Fatal error: Call to undefined function: sybase_connect() in
/export/home/abc/public_html/search.php3 on line 16>>
Do anyone know this problem and solution?
Also, beside the php.ini, is there any config file of the php? And where
can I find the php main program file?
