Hi everyone, I am having problems linking PHP 4.0.3pl1 as a DSO for Apache 1.3.14 on a Debian 2.2r1 "potato" system (x86). PHP compiles nicely just the linking causes the follwing error message: /usr/bin/ld: .libs/libphp4.so: undefined versioned symbol name __ns_name_unpack@@GLIBC_2.1 /usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [libphp4.la] Error 1 PHP 3.0.17 and 3.0.18 build and install just fine with the same configure options. I am not installing the two into the same Apache-Tree. My configure command is the following (without the linebreaks :-): ./configure --prefix=/opt --with-apxs --with-config-file-path=/opt/etc --with-mysql=/opt/packages/mysql-3.22.32 --with-pgsql=/opt/packages/postgresql-7.0.3 --with-gettext --with-msql=/opt/packages/msql-2.0.11 --with-gd=/opt --with-zlib=/usr --with-jpeg-dir=/usr --with-xpm-dir=/usr/X11R6 --with-ndbm --with-gdbm --with-dbm --with-db2 --with-yp --enable-ftp --enable-debugger --enable-bcmath --enable-versioning Leaving out --versioning does not help either. The problem also occurs if the --enable-bcmath is not present and the number4.tar.gz file is not installed into the source tree. The Apache, PostgreSQL, MySQL and msql are also self-compiled, not the .deb-packages supplied by the Debian people. $ uname -a yields: Linux jupiter 2.2.17 #8 Sat Oct 28 00:53:04 MEST 2000 i686 unknown I could not find anything about this in the FAQ - and a kind sould on php-genral referred me to this list. If further information is required, please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated. Kind regards -- Stephan -- Stephan Engelke engelke@gmx.net *** "He's dead, Jim.
