I'm having trouble getting PHP 4.3.2 to load in Apache 1.3.26. I get a
message to the effect of: "Undefined symbol: 'core_globals'". I'll re-try
the build if the exact error will help, but this is the important part (I
hope) of what I get, and it comes after I've done a
make install when I
try to restart Apache (apachectl restart). The full text of the error is
three lines -- much like the error you get if Apache can't find your
libphp4.so file, except with the core_globals error given above.
Platform:
FreeBSD 4.6.2
Apache 1.3.26
PHP 4.2.3
The weirdest part about all this is that FreeBSD's "port" of PHP 4.1.2 (IIRC)
works fine, and so does PHP 4.2.2 downloaded as source from php.net and
compiled by hand. However, I've tried PHP 4.2.3 several times and I get this
same error every time.
If anybody has suggestions, I'd really like to hear them. (Copy me via email
at tbutzon@cc.gatech.edu if you don't mind.) Otherwise, I'm considering
filing a bug report -- I'd just hate to waste peoples' time doing that if
it's a problem others have already discovered/gotten around.
Thanks all!
