Hi all,
I've been installing php4 in apache as a DSO after apache was already
installed and it "mostly" worked, but now the module won't load because of
some unresolved symbol "php_sig_gif".
What I don't understand is how could the module load normally and functioned
right until it decided not to load any more because of that symbol. I
haven't changed anything in the install of apache/modperl that would make
this happen.
I tried to compile php along with apache, still as a DSO but letting apache
do the install of it after the php module part was installed in the apache
tree. Thinking this would maybe help resolve this symbol trouble, but I get
something else, and I'm sure I'm not the only one having this come up. I
posted msgs about this before and didn't get a real fix, and that's what
lead me to install it separately from apache.
Here's what I get:
ld -shared -expect_unresolved "*" -s -o libphp4.so mod_php4.so-o
libmodphp4.a -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/opt/java118
/lib/alpha/native_threads -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql
-Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/mm/lib -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/opt/java118/li
b/alpha/native_threads -L/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql -L/usr/local/mm/lib
-Lmodules/php4 -L../modules/php4 -L../../modules/php4 -lmodp
hp4 -lmm -lmysqlclient -lgdbm -lresolv -lbind -lm -lresolv -lm
-Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/perl5/lib/5.00501/alpha-dec_osf/CORE -L
/usr/local/lib
/usr/local/perl5/lib/5.00501/alpha-dec_osf/auto/DynaLoader/DynaLoader.a
-L/usr/local/perl5/lib/5.00501/alpha-dec_osf/
CORE -lperl -lgdbm -ldbm -ldb -lm
ld:
Invalid flag usage: Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib, -Wx,-option must appear after
-_SYSTYPE_SVR4
ld: Usage: ld [options] file [...]
I had too much trouble with perl 5.6 that wouldn't work with modperl, so I
rolled back to perl 5.005 and modperl does work now.
I had this same error (above) when perl 5.6 was being used, so I don't think
any perl compile time settings would cause this, if so, what is it???
Does anyone have a fix for this?
