PHP4 and GD w/ JPEG Support

Has anyone gotten GD 1.8.3; Jpeg-6b and PHP 4 to work together yet..? I have Slackware 7.1, the Jpeglib 6b compiled and installed, and my GD configure line was: "./configure --with-mysql-(long line of dirs) --with-apxs=(long line) --with-jpeg-dir=/usr/lib (where my libjpeg.so resides)" It does that fine with no errors, then I build PHP and configure it accordingly, but when you do a php_info command, MySQL works fine but GD does not, it sees and has .PNG support but never JPEG..
