That doesn't make sense to me. Most people want to develop in an environment similar to the production environment.
True, I don't think I explained myself well - been a long day. Ok, Developer is writing a new site. Comes across a problem - needs to quickly check that it's not something in the filter that's causing the problem - easiest way is to either convert to use $_RAWGET or whatever it is or var_dump/printr it, and compare against the output from the normal, filtered, $_GET.
