I couldn't agree more, Wez - but this is the problem I'm seeing. What chance is there of working it out together when all discussion on the topic has been effectively overruled? If this ever gets to be the standard approach to PHP development, we'll have utter chaos. The last word on the subject, prior to the #ifdef'd commit, was that the date talks should be revisited after the 5.1 release. Meantime, the only thing that should be happening is that the existing implementation in the core, which _will_ be part of 5.1.0, is thoroughly tested, debugged, and made as stable as possible, as quickly as possible. That would be in everyone's interests, and I'd hope all factions can agree on that at least. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wez Furlong" <kingwez@gmail.com> To: "Andi Gutmans" <andi@zend.com> Cc: "Pierre-Alain Joye" <pierre@dotgeek.org>; <internals@lists.php.net>; "Derick Rethans" <derick@php.net> Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2005 4:14 PM Subject: Re: [PHP-DEV] Re: [PHP-CVS] cvs: php-src /ext/date... +1 On 7/20/05, Andi Gutmans <andi@zend.com> wrote: > Guys, work together!@#!
