No, that's not what I have in mind. The following is from PHPUnit/TestCase.php

    try {
        $this->runTest();
    }

    catch (AssertionFailedError $e) {
        $this->result->addFailure($this, $t);
    }

    catch (Throwable $t) {
        $this->result->addError($this, $t);
    }
