and I also agree with Johannes' point that any change here should be in PHP 6, regardless. - Steph1. Leave it as is and be in World of Configuration Pain (TM) 2. Allow <?= independent of short tags (my +1, dunno about XML templates guys)This is the way I understood Johannes' proposal - shoot me if I'm wrong here Johannes. But I don't have the means of testing to hand, so I'm willing/expecting to be told why this is a bad idea by those that do.
